The first weekend of December is the sweet spot. The tree is up at Rockefeller Center, the windows on Fifth Avenue are done, the skating rinks are open, and the city has not yet tipped into the last-minute Christmas crush.
Broadway is the centerpiece and the city has nothing else quite like it. Beyond that there is the Met, the 9/11 Memorial, the High Line, and the view from the top of somewhere very tall.
Getting around is the part people worry about and it is genuinely the easy part. We handle the transfers, and Manhattan itself is more walkable than it looks on a map.
